Let's Talk Authors

We are planning a spring workshop for published authors! Our work shop will address the age old question, "I've got my book, but now what?"

Our workshop will be held on Saturday, April 28 at the Johnson City Seniors' Center at 510 Bert St, Johnson City, TN 37601.

Our workshop is open to JCP and non-JCP authors, so feel free to bring your published friends along! Authors will be charged a fee to help pay for the cost of renting a room for our workshop. The fee to attend is $25 for non-JCP authors and $15 for JCP authors.

You must register and pre-pay by April 15th to attend. You can register and pay by calling our office at 423-926-9983.

The schedule for our workshop is as follows:

The facility opens and sign-in will be at 9:00 a.m.

Begin workshop – 9:30 a.m.

End – 1:00 p.m.

We are planning to include a short break and snacks, though no lunch will be provided.

Our workshop will include various topics, all related to currently published authors. This is not a writing seminar.

Author of Lori's Miracle: How One Family's Hope and Faith Overcame Adversity

About the book: On a sunny September day in 1981, fourteen-year-old Lori Beth Ford was involved in a tragic car accident that left her with a TBI - traumatic brain injury. The doctors and medical staff tried to convince Lori's family that she would not live, or if she did live, she would be incapacitated for the rest of her life. However, with hope, love and a refusal to believe the worst, Lori's family and friends showed nothing but support and patience through her ongoing recovery.

As a popular teenager with lots of friends and extracurricular activities, it was a hard transition for both Lori Beth and her family to accept the fact that she would never be the same. Told through her mother's voice, Lori's Miracle is the inspiring story of a girl whose childhood dreams were shattered, but her success was redefined in a way that no one could have ever imagined.
